The company revealed that it sold 6,476 automobiles in the month of August, representing a gain of 29.4% year over year (YoY), and this news caused shares of Eicher Motors to increase by 2% on September 1.
According to a regulatory filing, the company’s main division, which produces “Eicher Trucks and Buses,” had a 27.5 percent year-over-year (YoY) increase after selling 6,239 vehicles in the previous month.
Domestic sales for the same market sector increased by 30.4 percent year over year, totaling 5,907. On the other hand, despite the sale of 332 vehicles, the export data apparently fell 8.5 percent annually.
With 237 vehicles sold in the previous month, the annual gain in vehicle sales for “Volvo Trucks and Buses,” which are made by Eicher in a joint venture with Volvo, a Swedish automaker, was 115.5 percent.
The company reported an increase in revenue from operations of 17.33 percent year over year (YoY) to Rs 3,986 crore in its results for the April-June quarter. The quarter’s net profit climbed by 50.24 percent year over year to Rs 918 crore. On an annual basis, the operating profit margins for the quarter increased to 26% by 200 basis points.
