Adani Group: up to $3 billion in stock raising and Rs 1.3 trillion

The Adani Group intends to invest Rs 1.3 trillion in FY25 to bolster capacity, with Adani Green Energy allocating Rs 34,000 crore for its facilities in Khavda, Gujarat, according to Jugeshinder ‘Robbie’ Singh, the group’s chief financial officer, speaking in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. Singh highlighted that the majority of these investments will focus on the airport and green energy sectors. He emphasized that the group’s investments will primarily be financed through internal funds, with minimal reliance on external capital. Adani Group companies generated Rs 82,000 crore in cash flows during FY24.

As part of the funding strategy, Jugeshinder ‘Robbie’ Singh mentioned that the Adani Group plans to raise up to $3 billion (approximately Rs 25,000 crore) in equity capital across Adani Enterprises and other affiliated companies. Both Adani Enterprises and Adani Transmission have secured shareholders’ approval to issue shares to investors. Additionally, the group aims to refinance debt amounting to $3 billion during FY25, underscoring its proactive approach to managing financial obligations and supporting growth initiatives. These measures are intended to strengthen the group’s financial position and facilitate ongoing expansion across various sectors, ensuring sustained momentum in its strategic objectives.

The group intends to invest $100 billion over the next decade in energy transition and infrastructure sectors, with plans to initiate an initial public offering of its airport business by 2026. According to Jugeshinder ‘Robbie’ Singh, Chief Financial Officer, approximately 68% of the group’s funding will be sourced from internal cash flow. Singh affirmed that every investment target set by Chairman Gautam Adani is progressing as planned and fully committed financially. Nearly 90% of Adani Group businesses adhere to regulatory requirements, generating an annual free cash flow of $7 billion.
