NSE and BSE will be closed for the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony at Ayodhya Ram Mandir

Stock market today: Following the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ at the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, the Maharashtra State Government has proclaimed a public holiday on Monday, January 22, 2024. As a result, trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Exchange (NSE) will be suspended today. So, the Indian exchange has scheduled a stock market holiday on January 22, 2024, following a partial adjustment to its circular dated December 26, 2023.

As a result, there will be no action in the Equity Segment, Equity Derivative Segment, or SLB Segment today. The Ayodhya Ram Mandir ‘Pran Prathshtha’ ceremony would also cause trading in the Currency Derivatives Segments to be paused in the Indian stock market today.

Trading in the Commodity Derivatives Segment and Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR) Segment will be suspended in the morning session, which runs from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but will continue in the evening session at 5:00 PM. This implies there will be no trading on the MCX (Multi Commodity Exchange) or NCDEX (National Commodity Exchange) from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
