Stocks: These 25 equities will be eligible for T+0 settlement trading on the BSE starting March 28

Stocks: On Wednesday, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) revealed its decision to incorporate Bajaj Auto, Bharat Petroleum, and State Bank of India (SBI), alongside three Tata Group companies, within the 25 stocks qualifying for optional T+0 settlement, effective March 28.

Earlier this month, the capital markets regulator introduced a framework to roll out the beta version of the T+0 trade settlement cycle, starting on an optional basis. Initially, this choice will be available for a select group of 25 scrips and with a limited number of brokers.

Industry experts have noted that the adoption of the T+0 settlement system holds the promise of providing investors with expanded trading opportunities while simultaneously reducing settlement risks.

It’s crucial to emphasize that the T+0 settlement will be provided as an alternative for the specified 25 stocks and will solely apply to trades executed between 9:15 am and 1:30 pm, according to the circular issued by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) on March 21.

To mitigate market distortions arising from price disparities for shares traded in both settlement cycles, trading within the T+0 cycle will be subjected to a price band of 100 basis points above or below the prices observed under the T+1 cycle, as per BSE regulations.
