Yes Bank: According to Care Ratings, Nxtra has experienced an average annual revenue growth rate of approximately 13% over the last five years, rising from Rs 852 crore in FY19 to Rs 1,601 crore in FY23, fueled by strong demand for its services.

Carlyle, a prominent American private equity firm, is reportedly negotiating with Blackstone, another private equity firm, to sell its 25% stake in Nxtra Data, Bharti Airtel’s data subsidiary. Should the discussions succeed, the valuation of Bharti Airtel’s data business could reach Rs 10,000 crore.

In 2020, Carlyle obtained its stake in Nxtra for $235 million, approximately Rs 1,800 crore. A potential divestment of Carlyle’s interest in the company, as per a Business Standard report, would mark its fourth exit this fiscal year, following the sale of a portion of its stake in YES Bank through a block deal for Rs 1,160 crore.

Carlyle additionally divested its 2.5 percent stake in Delhi very for Rs 709 crore in June. Following that, in August, it sold its 2.17 percent stake in Piramal Pharma.

Nxtra, a subsidiary of Airtel, operates 12 large and 120 edge data centers nationwide. It had previously announced plans to invest more than Rs 5000 crores in the coming years to establish six new hyperscale data centers in major metro cities in India. This expansion aims to double its capacity to over 400 MW.
